IE wel of niet safe
De laatste dagen is er veel te doen om een beveiligingsprobleem in de IDN en de gevolgen die dit wel heeft voor browsers die dit ondersteunen en IE die het niet ondersteund. Ben heeft daar een interessante kijk op.
IE and IDN
A lot of sites are now claiming "only IE safe from IDN flaw". What I have not yet heard is whether or not IE with the Verisign IDN plugin (which is very common in countries where IDN use is prevalent - e.g. Japan) is "safe" or not.
These incidents appear to be a failure on the part of domain registrars who are not checking IDN characters for spoofed registrations as they should be. This threatens to undermine IDN in general. In the mean time the Mozilla Security group is putting together a plan of action to ensure the maximum protection in the interim.
